Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised telecoms entrepreneur Tom O’Hagan on his acquisition of wholesale internet service provider Entanet from CityFibre, one of the UK’s largest independent full fibre platforms.
Tom O’Hagan, founder and former CEO of Virtual1, is acquiring Entanet and will lead it as a standalone wholesale aggregator, investing in its products, systems and customer experience. Under the deal, Entanet will continue to operate under its existing brand, and become a major strategic wholesale customer of CityFibre, continuing to access and expand services delivered over CityFibre’s fibre network.
The Stephenson Harwood team was led by Private Equity Partner Malcolm MacDougall, supported by Managing Associate Lydia Zakrzewski, and Associate Jessica Martin. Wider support on the deal was provided by a cross-practice team from across the London office, including Commercial, Data and Tech Partner Simon Bollans and Associate Matthew Angell, Employment Partner Richard Freedman and Associate Eirini Haidemenos, Tax Partner Byul McPhee and Associate Ruth Hainsworth.
