Biography
Daniel is a specialist litigator with a focus on cyber, technology and data disputes. He regularly works with clients from initial cyber incident response through to regulatory engagement, litigation strategy and defence of individual and group data breach claims.
Prior to joining the firm, Daniel was seconded to the Information Commissioner’s Office (“ICO”) where he gained first-hand experience of the ICO’s approach to regulatory investigations and enforcement action. Daniel’s distinctive understanding of the ICO enables him to anticipate regulatory expectations and manage regulatory and litigation risks as part of a coordinated strategy.
Daniel is commended by clients for his deep knowledge of data protection law and his practical approach to novel and complex legal issues.

Seconded to the Legal Enforcement team at the ICO advising across all aspects of the ICO’s regulatory enforcement activities from initial inquiries to formal investigations and final enforcement action.

Defended one of the UK’s largest staff associations in a data protection class action arising from a cyber-attack.

Advised a sports analytics website in respect of a data protection class action threatened by professional athletes.

Advised a fertility clinic in respect of a cyber incident (ransomware attack) and supporting with legal and regulatory obligations and follow-on complaints from data subjects.

Acted for supercomputing company in a breach of contract claim in relation to the purchase of compute power.
