Before becoming CEO in 2019, Eifion worked as an intellectual property lawyer for more than 20 years, during which he became co-head of the firm's IP practice. He has extensive experience handling complex, multi-jurisdictional litigation for multinational clients.
As CEO, Eifion has set a bold strategy to double the firm's turnover in five years, while strengthening our sector expertise and geographical reach. His fresh approach earned him recognition in 2021 in The Lawyer's The Hot 100, where his desire to create a more modern firm was applauded. Demonstrating his hands-on leadership approach, Eifion frequently visits the firm’s international office network to connect with colleagues and clients.
Eifion is also passionate about fostering a diverse and inclusive culture at the firm. Initiatives have included people-focused policies and a scholarship programme designed to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds enter the legal profession. He is a key supporter of the firm's wider DEI agenda.
He is also passionate about wellbeing. Before the start of his second term, Eifion took a six-week sabbatical. He talked candidly with The Lawyer about why he took it, what he learned, and how the time away gave him space to think about his priorities for the next five years. He's an enthusiastic supporter of other colleagues also taking time out in this way, recognising the personal benefits.
