Florent Rigaud is a partner at Stephenson Harwood, specialising in international finance transactions across asset, project, and structured finance.
Florent has a particular focus on asset finance and is involved in all types of asset finance transactions for aircraft, shipping, railway, satellites and other large mobile assets. His experience includes secured and unsecured debt financings, operating, finance and tax-based lease structures, export credit agency-supported financings, aircraft/vessel sales, purchases and lease novations. Florent acts on behalf of domestic and international commercial banks as well as owners and lessors. Florent also has extensive experience advising international aircraft lessors on finance, corporate, administrative and other general legal aspects in connection therewith in France.
His project finance work involves energy and infrastructure financings for major domestic and cross-border transactions covering a wide range of sectors: motorways, hospitals, stadiums, power plants, etc. His experience includes large complex multi-sourced financings for both private structured projects and PPPs. Florent represents multilateral financing institutions and commercial banks as well as domestic and international sponsors, borrowers and investors.

Aircraft Financing
Represented a major international bank in connection with the refinancing of one Boeing 777F aircraft currently owned and operated by a French freight air carrier.
Aircraft Leasing
Represented a major US aircraft lessor in connection with a French tax lease structure for two new
Airbus A350-1000 aircraft for two French airlines.
Ship Financing
Represented a leading French bank in connection with the export credit financing of one Oasis cruise vessel.
Rail Financing
Represented a French rolling stock operator in the sale and lease back of 67 locomotives in France and in England.
Satellite Financing
Represented a leading French bank in connection with the proposed ECA-supported satellite financing for a Pacific Ocean satellite operator.
Stadium Financing
Represented a French League 1 football club in connection with the €141 million financing of a new 16,000-capacity sporting and entertainment venue as well as further on the €260 million debt and bond refinancing of its stadium and related training facilities.
Campus Financing
Represented a French law private university on the €130 million financing of the rehabilitation and
extension of its large campus in Lille with more than 5,000 students and 450 employees.
Hospital International PPP Financing
Represented the lenders and the hedging banks on the $1.83 billion financing of the 2,682-bed Ikitelli Hospital public private partnership (PPP) in Istanbul, Turkey.
Power Plant Financing
Represented the lenders on the development, financing, construction, operation and maintenance
of the ground-mounted solar photovoltaic power plants in Kazakhstan.
Venture Debt Financing
Represented a fund in connection with a €63 million venture debt facility granted to an
entertainment and media production company that licenses, produces, and distributes animated stories and videos for children, across platforms such as YouTube.
