Although based in London, most of Jonathan's clients are international, born outside the UK and/or living outside the UK with assets and other family members in more than one jurisdiction. As a result he is very experienced in complex cross-border issues, coordinating matters for clients who are affected by different legal and tax systems. He also has significant experience in assisting families and trustees in responding to tax investigations and resolving tax, trust and wealth disputes.
Jonathan has spent most of his career as a lawyer in private practice, but he also worked for four years as an in-house counsel to a bank in Bermuda. As a result, he puts forward practical structuring solutions to his clients, be they individuals or private banks and corporate trustees, considering both perspectives.
Jonathan is a well known and highly regarded figure in the private wealth community. He travels widely to see clients in the UK and overseas and regularly chairs conferences attended by clients and other industry professionals. He also publishes journal articles on topical issues and is frequently quoted in the national and industry press.
