Jonathan is a skilled commercial and technology lawyer with significant experience in advising on technology, commercial transactions and data protection.
Jonathan has worked on a wide range of general commercial contracts including manufacturing and supply agreements, distribution agreements, agency agreements, and technology agreements. These have been across a range of sectors including key life sciences clients of the firm.
He has a depth of interest in the decarbonisation sector and has spent a significant period of time on client secondment to Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C, the UK's two largest nuclear power projects for a generation. In this space he has supported on a broad range of key technology procurement, transformation and data protection matters.
He has significant data protection experience, having spent three years working at the UK data protection authority (ICO) across a range of departments. He advises clients on a wide range of data protection issues including developing landmark, industry-leading codes of conduct, complex international transfers guidance and strategic reviews of complex data processing by global organisations.
He also has experience with a range of IT contracts including major IT outsourcing projects and digital transformation projects. He has advised on a range of IT contracts including emerging and disruptive technologies such as AI and machine-learning.

Client secondment to a subsidiary of EDF to provide senior support on technology and data protection. Provided strategic support as the primary legal support on all digital & IT related programme activity and all data protection matters.

Drafted and negotiated multi-million-pound agreement to move technical consulting services from underperforming supplier to a competitor. Supported on all aspects of the transaction.

Association of British Investigators, code of conduct, investigations industry
Supported the ABI in its preparation of its UK GDPR code of conduct. This was the first code of conduct approved by the ICO under the UK data protection regime.
