Emma Fidler is an English-qualified lawyer based in Dubai with extensive experience in dry shipping, marine, off-shore and international trade matters. She acts for a wide range of clients including shipowners, charterers, energy companies, commodities traders, and P&I clubs, who rely on her expertise to resolve complex disputes arising from charterparties, bills of lading, and other contractual shipping agreements.

Her shipping practice covers the full spectrum of contractual issues, including demurrage and laytime, off-hire, misdelivery claims, cargo damage and contamination and unsafe port disputes. She also regularly handles claims under sale of goods contracts, supply agreements, and trade finance instruments, often involving complex jurisdictional or enforcement issues.

Emma represents clients in proceedings before the English Courts and supports clients in litigation across the GCC. She also acts as counsel in domestic and international arbitral forums such as DIAC, ICC, LMAA, SCCA, SCMA, SIAC, and GAFTA.

Emma's practice extends beyond contentious matters; she is instrumental in negotiating and drafting contracts, advising on contractual risk and commercial strategy as well as sanctions compliance and cross-border issues.

Clients value Emma's commercial mindset, responsiveness, and ability to distil technical legal points into strategic, practical advice. Her pragmatic approach and industry knowledge make her a sought-after advisor in the maritime and trade sectors.
