Monica is a disputes associate in the Commercial, Data and Technology team in the London office, dedicated to helping clients resolve complex cyber, data and technology-related disputes across diverse sectors.

Monica has extensive experience supporting clients in navigating contentious technology matters involving everything from IT software licensing agreements to artificial intelligence. Monica also regularly advises on all aspects of cyber incidents, data breaches and privacy disputes, guiding clients through strategic crisis management, follow-on litigation, collective actions, recovery of sensitive data and regulatory notifications. 

Monica is also regularly involved in handling life sciences disputes, including breach of contract matters related clinical trial arrangements and manufacturing contracts.

    Acted for an international publisher in respect of a $350m dispute relating to the provision of a substantial e-learning platform and electronic materials.

  • Pensions Trust

    Acted for a large pensions master trust defending follow-on class action claim relating to alleged breaches of the UK GDPR and DPA 2018 further to a cyber-attack suffered by one of its data processors.

  • International products manufacturer

    Defended a leading products manufacturer in a class action involving multiple claimants and defendants, and in connection, engaging in an extensive alternative dispute resolution process.

  • Clinical research organisation

    Acted for a leading CRO in its successful defence of a High Court claim brought by a sponsor regarding the conduct of a global Phase III clinical trial.

  • Biotechnology company

    Acted for a biotechnology company in relation to a contractual dispute with its CMO involving regulatory deficiencies at the CMO facility.

  • Global technology company

    Acted on a cross-jurisdictional investigation undertaken by a global technology company relating to an anticipated regulatory investigation arising from a defective product with suspected associated data issues.

  • Aesthetics clinic

    Acted for a client on a data incident involving the misappropriation of personal data and highly sensitive company confidential data by a third party.
