Nick is an Associate in the Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team, advising on a range of construction and infrastructure projects. He has particular expertise in providing in-house support to renewable energy and transport companies.

Nick is skilled in working with both standard form construction documents and bespoke contracts and appointments and also provides construction support on real estate, private equity and financing transactions. He has significant experience in public procurement, having contributed to the public procurement chapter of the 10th edition of Morgan & Burden on IT Contracts and provided advice in this area across the rail and energy sectors.
Nick adds value by understanding his clients’ requirements, and providing bespoke, considered solutions. He has developed enduring relationships via secondments with Alvarium Real Estate, where he worked on the financing of pan-European debt and equity-funded real estate acquisitions; Protium Green Solutions, advising the green hydrogen developer on a variety of corporate and project matters; and the Sizewell C nuclear power station project, where he focussed on the procurement of social value within the project supply chain. He is currently providing services to c2c Railway Limited, including in relation to novel challenges arising from its transition from private to public ownership.
Embassy Development
Acted for the seller in the sale and post-sale refurbishment of a central London property to a European government. Negotiated the building contract and consultant appointments and advised on provisions within the sale contract to facilitate the post-completion development of the site as an embassy.
Office acquisition at 8–10 Old Jewry, London
Advised on construction risk in the acquisition of a part-completed office scheme following contractor insolvency. Negotiated purchaser protections in the sale contract, resolved legacy construction and compliance issues, and procured bespoke insurance cover for critical plant
Building Schools for the Future
Advised a local authority on its Building Schools for the Future Programme, including negotiating design and build contracts and ancillary documentation for the regeneration of schools within the borough.
c2c Railway Limited
Advising c2c Railway Limited on a wide variety of construction matters during a client secondment. Advising on station improvement, design and build works across its station network, maintenance agreements, bespoke appointments and multi-disciplinary consultant framework agreements.
North London Waste Authority
Provided end-to-end procurement advice to the North London Waste Authority on the procurement of three property consultancy related service contracts.
Protium Green Solutions
Advised Protium on a wide range of corporate and project matters relating to its green hydrogen initiatives via a client secondment.
Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station
Advised Sizewell C on various issues including the procurement of social value within its supply chain.
PFI parent company guarantees replacement project
Nick was the main client contact for a UK-wide project replacing parent guarantees across 45 PFI project. He worked with the firm’s innovation team to design the automated delivery of documents, cutting average delivery time for the client by seven hours per project.
Hospital PFI refinancing
Acted for the project company on the refinancing of a hospital PFI project in Scotland. Drafted and negotiated the full suite of security and release documents and coordinated with Scottish counsel to manage jurisdiction-specific requirements.
