On development projects, his expertise spans from the initial acquisition of development land to negotiating joint venture and forward funding agreements, ensuring successful lettings and disposals of completed projects. Simon has lengthy experience in acting for the full range of parties involved in development projects, including funders, developers and tenants taking space by way of pre-lets.

On investment transactions, his expertise spans the acquisition and disposal of investment properties be that a single property, or the acquisition or disposal of large portfolios. He manages the delivery of asset management initiatives, and his team act across the full life cycle of real estate, including day to day asset management.

Simon’s client base includes major public companies, pension funds, private equity investors, property companies and high net worth individuals, drawn by his ability to navigate complex cross-border transactions with commercial clarity.

Simon regularly acts for data centre developers, operators, and investors, offering strategic insight into development, lettings, and investment disposals.

Known for his straightforward and succinct advice, Simon is highly regarded in the real estate sector. Clients appreciate his super-responsive approach and ability to get things done without fuss, making him a go-to expert for complex real estate challenges.

  • M&G Real Estate

    Advising M&G on a £700 million joint venture with TPG Real Estate. The joint venture was formed to manage and grow M&G's Active Growth Logistics Partnership, the UK's fourth largest multi-let industrial portfolio at 6 million square feet, occupied by 630 businesses.
  • Schroders

    Advising on the forward funding and investment disposal for £270 million of a ten-storey office development known as Two Ruskin Square as part of a major regeneration scheme in East Croydon.

     

    Advising on the disposal for £115 million of a 250 year long leasehold interest in a nine-storey office building known as One Ruskin Square, as part of a major regeneration scheme in East Croydon. 

     

    Advising Schroders Capital on its joint venture with Immobilien Europa Direkt to acquire the Brewery retail warehouse and leisure scheme in Romford London for £162 million.

  • Swiss Life

    Advising on the management of a large portfolio of retail estates and offices including sales, lettings, re-gears and general day-to-day asset management. Also advising on all investment and development activity on its self-storage warehouse platform, including the third-party investment and joint venture arrangements with Ares, and associated financing.
  • LXi REIT Plc

    Advising on the £775 million refinancing of its portfolio of pan-European assets via three facilities funded by Canada Life, HSBC and a club of institutional lenders including Lloyds and Barclays bank.
  • M7 Real Estate

    Advising M7 on the disposal to ICG of three retail parks for £136.5 million. Also advising on the management of a large portfolio of industrial estates including sales, lettings, re-gears and general day-to-day asset management.

  • Tristan Capital

    Advising Tristan on the first, and all subsequent lettings, at the Welcome Building, Bristol and 103 Colmore Row, Birmingham and advising Tristan on its pipeline of care home acquisitions and forward fundings for sums in excess of £175 million.
  • Goldentree and Farran

    Advising Goldentree and Farran on their acquisition for £350 million of a portfolio of 39 assets from Aberdeen Property Income Trust.
