Digital decade
Over the next few years, and on the lead up to 2030, a raft of new legislation will be enacted to regulate the digital revolution. The so called 'Digital Decade" will see new rules in relation to the use of AI and access to data, the tightening of cybersecurity controls, and new obligations on Big Tech companies. It is therefore crucial that businesses consider which rules apply to them and the steps which need to be taken to ensure compliance.
In this insight we provide a high-level summary of the different legislative proposals in the EU and UK, and a status update on when each has, or will, take effect.
