争议解决 | 22/04/2025

Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance firm Virtus Law LLP has secured a favourable outcome in a conversion claim against Oldendorff Carriers.

Virtus Law has successfully defended Oldendorff Carriers GmbH & Co KG (“Oldendorff) against a conversion claim in the case of Valency International Pte Ltd v JSW International Tradecorp Pte Ltd and others (2025) SGHC 50. This case involved the delivery of 55,000MT of steam coal shipped from South Africa to India, which was allegedly converted by Oldendorff in issuing instructions to the discharge port agent to issue delivery orders.

The team was led by Managing Partner of Virtus Law LLP Lauren Tang, supported by Associate Ooi Chit Yee.
