Justin Ma joins Stephenson Harwood as partner

公司事务 | 25/05/2023

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its corporate finance practice with the arrival of partner Justin Ma, who joins the firm in Hong Kong.

Justin is a corporate lawyer who specialises in IPOs, public and private mergers and acquisitions, convertible bond issuances, rights issues and other compliance matters related to listing companies. He has a strong focus on the mainland Chinese market. His clients include leading investment banks and companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

"The Chinese IPO markets have been increasingly active this year. In Hong Kong, that's been helped by the end of pandemic restrictions and the introduction of special listing regimes for specialist technology and biotech companies. We have been looking to re-enter the Hong Kong IPO market," said Jane Ng, the practice group leader of the Hong Kong office's corporate finance team.

"Justin has a strong track record in originating IPO transactions," said Evangeline Quek, Stephenson Harwood Greater China managing partner. "We see Justin's arrival as a significant step in improving the depth of our corporate offering, and gives Stephenson Harwood the ability to capitalise on deal-making opportunities in the region, while also increasing our Greater China coverage generally."

Established in 1979, our Hong Kong office was the first of our Greater China offices. It was one of the first UK firms to open in Hong Kong and then mainland China. The office offers a comprehensive spectrum of Stephenson Harwood’s global services including dispute resolution, commercial, technology, corporate, employment, finance, marine and international trade, private wealth, real estate, regulation and restructuring and insolvency.
