Stephenson Harwood advises Semperian on the acquisition of a minority stake in Merseyside Energy Recovery Holdings LTD
Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised Semperian PPP Investment Partners No.2 Limited (Semperian), a long standing client, on the acquisition of a minority stake in Merseyside Energy Recovery Holdings LTD.
Through a wholly-owned subsidiary, Merseyside Energy Recovery Holdings LTD works with Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority to manage and operate an energy-from-waste plant located at Wilton in the Tees Valley and a transfer loading station in Knowsley, Merseyside. The electricity generated at the energy-from-waste facility supplies both heat and power to local consumers.
Semperian is a UK-based infrastructure investor, with a diverse portfolio of public private partnership (PPP) investments within the social infrastructure sector. This acquisition adds to Semperian's growing portfolio of renewable energy and infrastructure assets.
The Stephenson Harwood team was led by partners Jonathan Cripps and Jonathan Bridcut, with support from managing associate Phil Harris, and associates James Gracey, Alexander Goodman and Sam Cooper.
