Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its Finance practice with the arrival of Partner Marc Hamilton in Dubai. He brings more than 25 years of experience advising on asset finance, specialising in aviation finance, rail finance, and cross-border leasing. He joins the firm from Norton Rose Fulbright.
Marc has extensive experience acting for airlines, financial institutions, export-credit agencies, arrangers, lessors and investors. He advises on a broad range of financing and leasing matters, including credit facilities, syndicated loans, pre-delivery financings, sale and purchase of aircraft, aircraft leases and leases of rolling stock, and European Investment Bank financings.
“Marc’s expert knowledge in aviation finance will support the expansion of our services in the Middle East region,” says Rania Tadros, Stephenson Harwood’s Middle East Managing Partner. “He brings strong relationships with key financial institutions and airlines and is a well-respected advisor on complex deals across the Middle East and Europe.”
“Aviation finance continues to see robust sector growth, and Marc’s outstanding experience in this space significantly expands our global footprint,” says James Linforth, Stephenson Harwood’s Global Head of Banking and Finance. “And in addition, his experience in various forms of complex financing, including export finance and tax-efficient structuring, will be of huge benefit to our clients in their cross-border activities.”
Marc’s arrival builds on the firm’s recent developments in the Middle East. In 2025, the firm also welcomed partners Ryan Whelan and Iwan Walters in Dubai, and grew its Middle Eastern capabilities by opening two offices in Saudi Arabia , including the arrivals of partners Marcus Latta and, in 2026, Jawahir Al-Subaie. In April, insurance litigation Partner Richard Hugg also relocated to Dubai from the firm’s London office.
