Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance advises Finnfund on investment in AwanTunai
Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance has advised Finnfund on OP Finnfund Global Impact Fund's investment in Jakarta-based fintech startup AwanTunai.
OP Finnfund Global Impact Fund I is the first global emerging markets impact fund in Finland. The fund will invest in high-impact projects in developing markets, in climate change, food security, gender equality and the availability of financing.
AwanTunai offers a point-of-sale financing solution to digitise Indonesia’s cash economy. The company enables thousands of SMEs in Indonesia to access both working capital and consumer credit through its platform.
Other lead investors in this US$27.5 million Series B round included Norfund and MUFG Innovation Partners.
The Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance team was led by Southeast Asia head of M&A Tom Platts, who was supported by of counsel Helen Rhind-Hufnagel and associate Harry Wilson. Singapore law advice was also provided by partner Sheetal Sandhu and registered foreign lawyer Vanessa Ho of Virtus Law LLP.
