Chris has spent over half a decade in Singapore advising clients across Southeast Asia on corporate and commercial matters. Prior to this, Chris was based in London where he trained and qualified as a solicitor at another leading London firm. He spent the final seat of his training contract in Singapore, where has been based since.

Chris started his career as a technology lawyer and worked on some of the largest telecoms towers sale and leasebacks in Asia and the Middle East. He now specialises in M&A across a range of sectors including technology, medtech, proptech, and data centres.

In terms of jurisdictional focus, Chris has advised clients on transactions across Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Philippines. His length of time in the region and broad jurisdictional experience means Chris is well placed to advise clients carrying out complex and multijurisdictional M&A transactions in Asia.

In his spare time, Chris is a Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force Reserves.

    Advised Cyan Renewables on its take-private of MMA Offshore, a Perth-based ASX-listed offshore vessel support company, for an implied equity value of AU$1.1 billion. Cyan Renewables is an offshore vessel portfolio company owned by Singapore-headquartered private equity fund Seraya Partners.

  • Lifull Connect

    Advised global property technology group Lifull on its acquisition of the assets of Digital Classifieds Group, a distressed Australian-headquartered marketplace operator.

  • Standard Biotools Inc

    Advised Standard BioTools Inc on its acquisition of Sengenics Corporation, a Singapore-based functional proteomics business, with operations in Malaysia and the US.

  • Tyme Group

    Advised Tyme Group, a global digital banking group, on various matters including seconding to Tyme on a part-time basis. Tyme is one of the fastest growing digital banks in Asia with operations in Philippines, Indonesia, and South Africa.

  • Iluma Alliance

    Advised Iluma Alliance, a global agricultural and food technology conglomerate on its acquisition of Anitox Group, an animal feed safety specialist with operations in Malaysia and Singapore

  • FPE Capital

    Advised FPE Capital on the buyout of Vanda Research, a provider of specialist research and data products for institutional capital markets investors.

  • Unity Digital Infrastructure Inc.

    Advised Unity, independent tower company in the Philippines, on the sale and leaseback of 650 telecoms towers for approximately US$163million from SMART-PDLT, the largest telecoms company in the Philippines.

  • TASC Towers

    Advised TASC Towers on its agreement with Ooredoo and Zain to create the largest tower company in the Middle East. The deal covered just under 30,000 towers across MENA.
