Partners Dora Mace-Kokota and Genevieve Quierin have been named in The Lawyer's 2025 Hot 100.
Dora is a maritime finance partner. She became practice group leader of the firm's international maritime, trade, and offshore group in May 2024 – one of the youngest partners to hold such a position – and leads a team of over 100 lawyers in offices around the world. At the beginning of 2025 Dora also took on the leadership and oversight of the firm's presence in Greece, as part of a strategy to expand the office's maritime, litigation, Greek law and other practices.
Dora specialises in advising major international financial institutions, owners and other players in relation to general finance, maritime finance, sale and purchases, restructuring, secondary trade and leasing matters, and has become an industry expert and leader in relation to maritime decarbonisation in finance.
The Lawyer highlighted Dora's "extraordinary couple of years” and the challenges her practice faces from increased regulation, sanctions and environmental factors, describing her as "revved up for her firm’s next chapter."
Commercial and competition litigation partner Genevieve recently secured a settlement with Mastercard and continues to lead a parallel claim against Visa on behalf of over 1,900 companies in a group competition claim relating to card transaction (interchange) fees that are alleged to infringe competition law. The claims are together valued at over £1bn including interest and are the first 'umbrella proceedings' to be litigated and tried in the Competition Appeal Tribunal. Genevieve is also acting for 7 of the UK's top 10 supermarket groups in their claims for cartel damages against Norwegian salmon producers, valued at £937m including interest. She leads the firm's Group Action and Competition team and secured a successful judgment in the case of Saxon Woods Limited v Francesco Costa and Others earlier this year, an unfair prejudice petition, in which she also successfully defended a security for costs application and secured an interim injunction against the unlawful use of company funds. Her team was shortlisted for Commercial Litigation team of the year for this case in the Legal Business Awards, and her team handling the claims against Mastercard and Visa has been shortlisted for Competition and Regulatory team of the year in the British Legal Awards.
Noting the group actions and competition team's impressive 12 months, the Hot 100 predicts that "Quierin, her team and their work will be watched closely by the market in 2025 and beyond."
The Hot 100 recognises and celebrates the most innovative lawyers from in-house, private practice and the Bar, who have completed ground-breaking work in the last year.
