Partner Kirsti Massie joins Stephenson Harwood

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its projects, energy and infrastructure practice with the addition of partner Kirsti Massie. She joins the firm in London, from Mayer Brown where she was co-leader of the projects and infrastructure practice.

Kirsti's practice covers energy and energy infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on power projects ranging from traditional thermal generation – including gas, coal and nuclear power – to renewable technologies – including wind, solar, biomass and geothermal – and battery and storage technologies.

Kirsti also brings substantial experience in energy regulation, including UK regulation and EU Third Energy Package regulation, and in relation to energy transition projects including e-fuels, green ammonia and green hydrogen projects.

Kirsti advises sponsors, developers, and government and financial institutions on power and energy projects across the globe, with a particular focus on the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

"With several decades of experience, international expertise and strong relationships with leading players in the projects and energy sector, Kirsti is a lawyer of exceptional calibre," said Rebecca Carter, who leads Stephenson Harwood's real estate and projects group. "Kirsti is the latest senior hire to join our team, and brings valuable experience to our projects capabilities."

"Kirsti's experience in relation to energy transition projects is a real coup for the firm," said Jonathan Cripps, head of energy transition, Stephenson Harwood. "With growing emphasis on energy transition internationally, and the firm's strategic focus on the sector, Kirsti's expertise advising clients in Europe, the Middle East and Asia complements the firm's current capabilities and takes our offering to the next level."

With international expertise and broad experience in a wide range of energy and infrastructure projects, including PPP, the Stephenson Harwood projects, energy and infrastructure team advises clients all over the world. In renewables and energy transition, the team acts for sponsors, lenders, operators and construction and engineering contractors across the full range of technologies from solar, wind, energy from waste, electric vehicles, geothermal, direct air capture, through to hydrogen and nuclear.
