Stephenson Harwood Paris is pleased to announce the appointment of Hortense Atthenont-Duret as partner and the arrival of Aurélie Bossert, who will join the firm as partner on 1 May 2026.

Hortense Atthenont-Duret joined the firm in October 2019. A member of the Shipping team led by Alain Gautron within the Finance department, and Counsel since 2024, she has actively contributed to its growth by advising clients on complex, high-stakes maritime and financial transactions. Her promotion recognises her unwavering commitment to the firm's clients, as well as her high-level technical and strategic expertise.

"This promotion is above all the result of a collective effort, working alongside partners from whom I have learned enormously," says Hortense. "I am very grateful to the firm and look forward to this new role with enthusiasm, in service of our clients."

Aurélie Bossert joins Stephenson Harwood Paris after nearly ten years in the Finance department of DLA Piper France. With over fifteen years of experience in structured finance — primarily in project and asset financing — she advises commercial banks, development finance institutions, investment funds, and industrial companies. She has led a wide range of transactions, including bank loans, bond issuances, finance leases, and tax leases, across the energy, infrastructure, and mobility sectors. Having previously worked at Stephenson Harwood, where she developed specialist expertise in shipping finance, her return will enrich and broaden the department's offering at the intersection of transport, energy, and infrastructure.

"I am delighted to be rejoining Stephenson Harwood and the Shipping team," says Aurélie. "The quality of the team and its excellent market reputation were decisive factors in my decision. I look forward to working with them again in service of our clients and partners."

Nicolas Demigneux, Managing Partner of Stephenson Harwood Paris, concludes: "The appointment of Hortense Atthenont-Duret and the arrival of Aurélie Bossert reflect our twofold approach, grounded in developing internal talent and making targeted lateral hires. More broadly, these appointments are in keeping with our growth momentum and our strategy to strengthen all of our existing practices and make our Paris office a full-service hub of scale and the firm's gateway into continental Europe."

A leading player in the market for shipping and aviation asset finance, with recognised expertise in structured finance and banking law, the Finance department of Stephenson Harwood Paris advises on a broad range of transactions: project and asset finance, acquisition finance, leasing, and bond issuances across the energy, infrastructure, and transport sectors. It advises international banks, credit institutions, development finance institutions, investment funds and industrial companies on complex domestic and cross-border transactions.
