Biography

Languages - English, Greek
Jurisdictions - England & Wales, New York State

Alex has extensive experience of acting for claimants and defendants in significant competition damages actions before the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal and High Court.

Alex supported 1,800 corporate claimants in their claims for damages arising from Visa's and Mastercard's alleged infringements of competition law in relation to multilateral interchange fees. Alex worked across both "Trial 1", which determined the question of Visa's and Mastercard's liability under Article 101 TFEU and Chapter I Competition Act 1998, and "Trial 2", which will resolve the issue of pass-on.

Alex is currently acting for seven of the largest UK supermarket groups (Aldi, Asda, Co-op, Iceland, Marks and Spencer, Morrisons and Ocado) on claims arising from an alleged cartel in the market for farmed Atlantic salmon.

Alex is also supporting the Bed & Breakfast Association in its proposed collective proceedings against Booking.com arising from Booking.com's price parity policies.
