Experience

  • Investment into a carbon credits exchange

Together with MHM Singapore, we assisted Mizuho Financial Group with respect to the Singapore law related issues relating to its investment in Climate Impact X, is a Singapore entity that operates a global marketplace, auctions house and exchange for carbon credits and, in addition to Mizuho, is jointly owned by DBS, Singapore Exchange, Standard Chartered and GenZero, a decarbonisation-focused investment platform founded by Temasek

  • Acquisition of leading transporter petrochemical gases and natural gas liquids

Assisted Seapeak LLC (Seapeak) on a US$700 million (enterprise value) all-cash acquisition of Evergas from Jaccar Holdings (Jaccar) via the acquisition of two Evergas entities in Singapore - Greenship Gas Trust, an unlisted business trust registered with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and Greenship Gas Manager Pte. Ltd., its trustee-manager.

  • Conversion of $200m term loan and revolving credit facility to sustainability-linked loan

As part of the Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance, we advised a syndicate of lenders - comprising ABN AMRO Bank, ING Bank, TIAA FSB and Clifford Capital - on a US$240 million sustainability-linked loan to Peacock Container Group (Peacock) - – which has won the 'Transport Deal of the Year' award at The Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Awards 2023. This was the first financing deal of its kind in the tank leasing industry, and is part of Peacock's approach to better align its financing strategies with its long-term sustainability goals and values. The loan included specific sustainability terms, linking Peacock's cost of financing to its ESG scorecard issued by EcoVadis. This supports its ongoing actions to implement ESG principles across all aspects of its operations and business.
