    Advising a multinational energy corporation in an advance payment structure in connection with a gasoline offtake contract.
  • Trade payment undertaking

    Advised various commodity traders in banks' participation arrangements in the non-payment risk of their buyers and payment undertakings from such banks.
  • Crude oil receivable factoring

    Assisted a Hong Kong bank with documenting and negotiating a bespoke Hong Kong law-governed receivables purchase structure for crude oil on an undisclosed basis.
  • Vehicle supplier credit

    Advised a global vehicle manufacturer in its trade financing structures involving supplier credits and ECA arrangements, retention of title and security arrangements and other relevant legal and regulatory issues.
  • Documentary credit facility restructuring

    Assisted a French bank in restructuring its documentary credit facilities and security package for a multinational company under the French reconciliation procedure, involving Hong Kong law trust receipt and repayment arrangements and also French law and URDG-governed demand guarantees and security assignments of receivables.

  • Belt and Road term loan facility

    Assisted a major bank in establishing a CNY2.9 billion term loan facility to a Kazakhstan oil company to support PRC-Kazakhstan cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative supported by funded risk participation arrangements.
  • Farmland resumption receivable financing

    Advised a major property developer in a series of receivable purchase transactions involving over HK$7.70 billion of compensation payable by the Hong Kong Government in connection with the resumption of farmland for public purposes.
  • Commodity trading and letters of credit

    Designed the procedural guidelines for a new PRC commodity trader on trading under letters of credit in general and back-to-back letters of credit structures with respect to UCP 600 and advised on red flags and common money laundering, sanctions and fraud concerns.
  • Fintech construction financing

    Assisted a fintech company in setting up its financing programmes including receivables purchase structures targeting contractors and sub-contractors under specific construction contracts and projects, with an emphasis on achieving true sale treatment.
