She has extensive experience in advising clients, including states and companies, in relation to high value, complex, multi-jurisdictional contracts, and disputes arising out of those contracts.
Catherine works on a wide range of international commercial matters, both contentious and non-contentious. She is known for her pragmatic approach, and her extensive experience of representing clients in both investor-state arbitrations (including ICSID and UNCITRAL) and commercial arbitrations (including LMAA, ICC, LOF, LCIA, CIETAC, HKIAC, GAFTA and FOSFA). Her reach covers the UK, the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.

Represented a Chinese marine insurance company in a LOF arbitration concerning a salvage dispute of circa. $35 million with successful result.
FOSFA international trading dispute
Represented an Israeli trading company in a FOSFA arbitration concerning an international trading dispute and successfully dismissed the opposing party’s claims in full.
ICC oil production sharing agreement disputes
Represented a Ministry of a Middle East State in more than ten (10) high stake ICC arbitrations (each of hundreds of millions of dollars), concerning breach of Production Sharing Agreements by contractors of oil blocks and involving multiple claims by the Ministry against the contractor groups.
LMAA charterparty dispute
Represented a Chinese marine insurance company in a LMAA arbitration concerning a charterparty dispute of circa. $30 million.
CIETAC construction dispute
Represented a Chinese construction company in a multi-million-dollar CIETAC arbitration concerning an overseas construction dispute and successfully won over 80% of the claimed amount for the clients.
LCIA pharmaceutical dispute
Represented a Kuwaiti pharmaceutical company in a LCIA arbitration of circa. $20 million in relation to pharmaceutical distribution agreements.
ICSID investment arbitration on a construction project
Represented the Republic of Yemen in an ICSID investment arbitration of over $100 million against a Chinese public company in relation to a construction project in Yemen.
UNCITRAL investment arbitration on a telecommunication project
Represented a telecommunication company in a billion-dollar UNCITRAL investment arbitration with successful result.
