Déborah helps clients navigate all kinds of disputes, from early negotiations to courtroom battles. Déborah appears before French and Monegasque courts.
Déborah's practice covers all areas of civil and commercial litigation (contractual disputes, equity disputes, tort liability, asset recovery and enforcement procedures, etc.) at both pre-litigation and litigation stages.
Déborah advises French and foreign banks, asset management companies, directors, and manufacturers in a wide range of sectors (energy, banking, construction, shipping, retail, etc.).
Her experience involves strong focus on post-acquisition litigation, shareholders disputes and directors' liability. Déborah is also frequently involved in litigation relating to complex private equity transactions.
Beyond complex litigation, Déborah also advises on matters related to the art market.
Déborah holds a double degree in Law and Management and a master's degree in European and International Business Law from the Paris-Dauphine University. Before joining Stephenson Harwood, she worked in the litigation department of a French leading law firm.

Transfer of shares and deprivation of assets
Advised and represented a Singaporean trust company and a Mauritius private company in a €120 million dispute following the sale of their interests in a Congolese mining company and the following fraudulent divestment of its assets.
Global enforcement of US decisions and asset tracing
Acted for the owner of an international commodity trading company to trace assets and recover damages for breach of contract and fraud in relation to a complex “pump and dump” scheme; and to enforce NY decisions in France and Monaco. Assistance included piercing the veil of various holding and shell companies in Monaco.
Divestment of a branch of activity and payment of dividends
Helped the minority shareholder of an industrial company in a complex dispute against the majority shareholder and the managing director further to the fraudulent sale a branch of activity and the failure to pay dividends.
Water treatment market leader
Supported a world leader in the production of drinking water and the treatment of sewage and sludge in proceedings before French Courts and in court-ordered surveys against various contractors, sub-contractors and insurers in relation to the construction of water treatment plants in the North of Paris and South of France.
Tym Ganain
Acted for Tym Ganain, a Spanish company specialised in shipbuilding services and stabilizers manufacturing, and its insurers in relation to a dispute with a worldwide Italian group operating in the industrial forging sector in both court-ordered survey and proceedings following the crack of stabilizers of an international cruise line ship.
Termination of a commercial agent’s contract
Represented a commercial agent for the telecommunications sector in a dispute against one of its Portuguese clients, as to its claims of alleged diversions of orders, and breaches of non-compete and confidentiality obligations.
Investment dispute
Supported a leading French sportech which specialises in the design, development, manufacture and sale of biomedical products and services in the physiotherapy sector in connection with a dispute relating to its fundraising of €16 million with an international private equity fund dedicated to the development of health sectors in France.
Compensation of an investment placement agent
Advised and represented a leading pan-European private equity firm, in a dispute against a Liechtensteiner investment placement agent, further to the subscription to one of its private debt funds.
Loans and foreign exhibitions of a significant painting from the 19th century
Helped a preeminent institution for art and culture in Middle East in relation to the temporary export outside EU of one of the most popular paintings from the 19th century from a French renowned and celebrated artist and contributor to the Realist movement.
Permanent export of two manuscripts from the 15th and 18th centuries
Assisted a government entity in Middle East that manages an expanding network of museums, heritage sites, public art and programming to proceed with the permanent export of two ancient manuscripts on natural history, which were formerly classified as National Treasures, to conduct historical research and exhibit same on the long-term.
