Louie graduated with a Bachelor of Law from Shanghai Maritime University in 2001. He worked for a leading Chinese shipping and shipbuilding law firm for over seven years, which included a four-year secondment as legal counsel for a major Chinese shipyard in Southern China. In 2008, he joined a top tier international maritime law firm and acted as senior associate for more than 15 years there.
Louie has extensive experience in shipbuilding, ship and equipment sale and purchase, financing and related professional services. He has represented various Chinese entities in handling arbitrations in foreign jurisdictions. Louie has also advised international and domestic clients on foreign direct investment, particularly in relation to the establishment and operation of sino-foreign joint ventures/cooperative joint ventures, wholly foreign owned enterprises and representative offices.
