Louis specialises in aviation finance, assisting financiers, lessors, and aircraft owners in navigating the intricacies of cross-border financing, trading and leasing transactions of both commercial aircraft and business jet. His expertise spans various types of financing (including syndicated loans, pre-delivery financing and ECA financing), cross-border leasing transactions (including operating leases, finance leases, sale and lease backs, tax-based leases and domestic PRC operating leases utilising Tianjin SPV structure), commercial aircraft fleet acquisition projects, aircraft lease novation, power-by-the-hour arrangements and sale and purchase of used aircraft. His client base includes leading international lessors, financial institutions and high net-worth individuals, who rely on his strategic approach to achieve seamless and successful outcomes.
In addition to his role as transactional counsel, he acted for a leading international lessor in various aircraft repossession, airline restructuring and proceedings against airlines in default. These cases involved more than 80 aircraft registered in over 20 jurisdictions, equipping him the extensive experience in advising his clients throughout the full-life cycle of aircraft assets.
