Salomi is a transactional shipping, offshore and superyacht lawyer in the Maritime, Trade & Offshore group at Stephenson Harwood, specialising in commercial ship financings, offshore projects and superyacht transactions. Salomi has broad experience advising clients on a variety of complex cross-border projects and financing arrangements across the commercial shipping and superyacht sectors, which includes financings and re-financings, sale and purchases, sale and leaseback structures, newbuild construction and refit projects, management arrangements and vessel registrations.
Salomi is a member of the Stephenson Harwood yacht and superyacht team and has a deep knowledge and understanding of the superyacht sector, representing HNWI and UHNWI, banks, owners, brokers and designers in relation to the financing, sale and purchase, construction and refit and ownership structuring of yachts and superyachts.
Prior to joining Stephenson Harwood in Athens, Salomi worked in London City law firms where she gained extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious shipping work. During this time, Salomi undertook separate six-month secondments with two highly-regarded international shipowners where she was responsible for overseeing ship finance and sale and purchase transactions as well as assisting the claims department with on-going litigation matters and dispute resolution.
Pre-delivery financing
Advised on a syndicated loan facility of three new-build cruise ships and assisted with all features including the pre- and post-delivery financing, registration and security documents.
JOLCO financings
Acting for financing banks on JOLCO transactions for the financing of dry-bulk carriers.
Second hand vessel financings and re-financings
Advised financiers and borrowers on bilateral loan facilities and sale and purchase aspects.
Second hand sale and purchase
Acted for buyers and sellers in sale and purchase transactions in commercial shipping (NSF, Nipponsale, Bimco sale forms)
Yacht financing
Advised the owner on the financing of the purchase of a 60metre Feadship with an English financier and assisted with all the sale and purchase features.
Yacht construction
Advised an UHNWI on the negotiation of a construction contract of a 43metre Eco Sunreef, the world’s biggest electric leisure catamaran with composite-integrated solar panels, hydro-generation system and electric engines.
Superyacht sale and purchases
Acted for sellers and buyers on multiple sale and purchases of superyachts ranging from 30m-80m, contracting on both the MYBA and IYBA forms
Refit contracts
Acted for owners on the negotiation of a number of high-value ICOMIA refit contracts for superyachts including a 70m Feadship and a 75m Abeking and Rasmussen.
Commercial contracts
Advising yacht brokers on commission agreements, central agency agreements and retail agreements.
