Shona is an Associate within the Private Wealth Disputes team, specialising in resolving complex trust and succession disputes. She studied English at the University of Nottingham, before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law with Distinction.
She has extensive experience across the full spectrum of contentious trusts and probate work, having acted in cases involving all types of trust (express, implied, discretionary, will, and trusts of land/TOLATA), as well as will and trust validity challenges, interpretation and disclosure issues, breach of trust/duty claims, and contested trustee and personal representative removals.
She is also highly experienced in claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. Her work has also included acting for and against litigation friends for children and protected parties under CPR Part 21, as well as seeking mandatory court approval of settlements on their behalf under CPR 21.10.
Shona advises a diverse range of clients, including high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, onshore and offshore trustees, beneficiaries of complex trust structures, and private-client service providers (such as international trust companies, family offices, professional advisers, and their insurers).
