Olivier Dorgans joins Stephenson Harwood as Partner

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has expanded its Paris office with the addition of partner Olivier Dorgans, who joins the firm’s Ethics, Investigations and Defence (EID) practice.

Olivier brings more than seventeen years of experience advising on compliance, internal investigations, and financial and regulatory crime. His practice covers a broad range of criminal and regulatory issues, including economic sanctions, export controls, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML-CTF), ESG and human rights, and trade/tariff matters. He regularly advises international financial institutions, telecommunications companies, insurers, and large industrial groups. Olivier joins Stephenson Harwood from Foley Hoag LLP.

“Following the creation of our EID practice group in 2024 and a series of key lateral hires, Olivier’s expertise complements our existing strengths and enables us to provide clients with a truly comprehensive service,” said Regulatory and Investigations Partner Jean-Julien Lemonnier, Stephenson Harwood. “Olivier’s arrival will significantly strengthen our team’s unique position in the French market, offering a full-service compliance, internal investigations, and related administrative or judiciary investigations.”

“Olivier’s expertise in sanctions and export controls regulations, especially before U.S. authorities such as the DoJ, OFAC, NYDFS, and the FED, is rare in the Paris market,” said Nicolas Demigneux, Paris Office Managing Partner. “It positions us as a distinctive and sought-after proposition for clients in the French compliance sector, particularly as economic sanctions and export controls become ever more critical for French and European companies.”
