Partner Paul Inman joins Stephenson Harwood

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its patent litigation capabilities with the addition of Partner Paul Inman, who joins the firm in London. Paul is a patent litigator with a strong track record in complex, high-stakes cases for life sciences companies.

Paul has more than 30 years of patent litigation experience both within the UK and internationally. With a background in molecular biology and biochemistry, he specialises in life sciences disputes, including acting on high-profile pharmaceutical and biotech patent infringement and revocation actions in the UK, and coordinating actions internationally. He advises companies ranging from small start-ups to major multi-national corporations. Paul joins from Gowling WLG.

“As life sciences continues to dominate the patent litigation landscape and global patent enforcement strategies become more complex following the success of the Unified Patent Court,  specialist expertise is increasingly required for our life sciences clients, and Paul’s arrival will significantly enhance our patent litigation capabilities in this space,” said Alexandra Pygall, Stephenson Harwood’s Head of Intellectual Property and Head of Life Sciences & Healthcare. “The life sciences sector is a strategic focus for us as a firm, and we continue to invest in our strong and specialist IP team.”

Stephenson Harwood’s intellectual property team supports clients to protect, commercialise, enforce, defend, acquire and sell IP with strategic, commercially focused advice and seamless international cross-border support from recognised specialists. The team supports across the full spectrum of IP rights in advisory, transaction and litigation contexts, from patents and trade marks to designs, copyright, database rights, domain names and trade secrets.

Stephenson Harwood’s life sciences practice advises pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, diagnostic and healthcare services companies, as well as investors, brokers, manufacturers, distributors and financial institutions across the full range of legal disciplines. The firm provides tailored legal insight, seamless cross-border support, and a risk managed approach that helps clients anticipate challenges and seize opportunities.
