Stephenson Harwood advises on Alwen Hough Johnson sale to Miller Insurance

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised the shareholders of Alwen Hough Johnson (AHJ) on its sale to Miller Insurance, forming a major new intermediary in the reinsurance broking and MGA sector.

Founded in 1973, AHJ is a specialist (re)insurance broker with a focus on reinsurance across property and casualty, marine, and energy sectors. AHJ also operates as a managing general agent, placing insurance business in select niche lines. AHJ's current management team will remain in post and form part of the new combined business unit, which will operate under the name AHJ Miller.

Miller is a leading independent specialist (re)insurance broker with more than 1000 people operating in Lloyd’s, the London and international markets.

Corporate Partner Sam Gray led the Stephenson Harwood team, with support from Managing Associate Gerald Seeto, and Associates Alexander Goodman and Samuel Tyler.
