Corporate | 05/06/2024

Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised S&P Global on the acquisition of Green Power Conferences Limited.

Green Power Conferences Limited is a provider of events, market intelligence and training for the global hydrogen clean energy sector under the brand 'World Hydrogen Leaders'.

This acquisition is set to complement S&P Global's existing suite of energy transition and sustainability solutions and comes amid a backdrop of increasing global hydrogen production forecasts and decarbonisation efforts.

The transaction follows on from the firm's role advising on S&P’s previous acquisitions of APPEC, the Middle East Petroleum & Gas Conference, and the Fujairah Bunkering & Fuel Oil Forum.

The team was led by Singapore-based partner Tom Platts, who was supported by London-based corporate associates Charmaine Yuen and Seline Velioglu, Singapore-based corporate associates Emily Lau and Joel Tan and trainee Beth Crang.

Further advice was provided by tax partner John Meehan and associate Ruth Hainsworth, who advised the client on key tax issues bespoke to the transaction; employment partners Richard Freedman and Paul Reeves, managing associate Natalie Edwards and associates Reem Al-Saady and Eirini Haidemenos, who advised on the employment aspects of the transaction in relation to TUPE and outgoing employees; the incentives, IP and pensions teams, including partner Nicholas Stretch, consultant Sue Farrow, of counsel Naeem Noor, and associates Seth Crawley and Ainsleigh Stone.
