Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has successfully acted for GPI SpA, a leading Italian healthcare technology company, in the case of MAK Systems Group Limited v Velindre University NHS Trust (Case No: HT-2025-000186).
GPI was the successful bidder in the Trust’s procurement process for the award of a contract to provide a blood establishment computer system for the Welsh Blood Service, which is subject to challenge by MAK.
GPI intervened as an interested party in the Trust’s application to lift the automatic suspension under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The High Court’s decision ([2026] EWHC 8 (TCC)), lifted the suspension, allowing the contract to proceed.
The case was led by Commercial Litigation Partner Oliver Sangster, who was supported by Associate Michael Taurian.
