Jon advises clients on Intellectual Property matters, with a focus on patents, confidential information and trade secrets. He specialises in the enforcement and defence of patents and trade secrets and is regularly involved in highly technical disputes before all levels of the English courts. Jon is also experienced in assisting clients navigate regulatory issues relevant to their businesses and commercial objectives.
Jon’s drive to work with innovative businesses is rooted in his technical background, having studied Pharmacology at undergraduate level and worked in the pharmaceutical industry before training as a solicitor. He is experienced in immersing himself in his clients’ technologies and businesses and has acted for clients across a range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, MedTech, telecoms, computer technologies, green tech, chemicals and manufacturing.
Jon handles cross-jurisdictional matters and frequently collaborates with international colleagues as part of overseas disputes and projects. He brings a balanced perspective to his advice, regularly advising both patentees and implementers, and endeavours to guide clients through disputes and commercial matters with pragmatic solutions.
He trained at leading international IP firm Bird & Bird and qualified as a solicitor in 2020. In 2022, he joined the patent litigation practice at Magic Circle firm A&O Shearman, where he worked on complex, multi-jurisdictional patent disputes. Jon joined Stephenson Harwood in 2025.
Jon is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property.
