Justin helps clients resolve commercial disputes whether in litigation, arbitration, mediation, or pre-proceedings. He has a strong focus on marine and international trade matters, and also handles non-contentious work in that sector. He is fluent in Mandarin and his matters often bear a Chinese element.
He acts in trade, charterparty, offshore, and ship financing disputes for owners, charterers, traders, financiers, Clubs and other market participants. Another part of Justin's practice is noncontentious, drafting and negotiating commercial and maritime contracts, such as shipbuilding contracts, long-term charters, and long-term supply contracts.
Outside the marine and international trade sector, Justin's high-value commercial disputes experience includes shareholders', aviation, cryptocurrency, and construction disputes.
Justin is legally qualified in Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, and England & Wales. Justin was based in Hong Kong for a number of years. He is on the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre's List of Arbitrators and the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration's Panel of Arbitrators, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association.
Justin is recognised as a Senior Accredited Specialist in Maritime and Shipping Law (Singapore Academy of Law).
