Niki has handled significant cross-border legal issues for many overseas companies and listed companies, covering such fields as international litigation and arbitration, corporate and commercial laws, maritime and admiralty. She can deal with complex commercial situations and provide clients with reliable legal advice and practical solutions. 

Before joining Wei Tu, Niki practiced PRC law at the Foreign-related Legal Service Group in a PRC Law Firm, focusing on cross-border litigation and arbitration cases. Her represented cases were selected by the Supreme People's Court of China as one of the "2021 Typical National Maritime Cases" and selected by the Guangzhou Maritime Court as one of the "Top 10 Typical Cases of 2021". 

Niki graduated from City University of Hong Kong with a master's degree in Corporate and Commercial Law. 

*Wei Tu (a PRC law firm registered in Guangzhou) and Stephenson Harwood (a law firm registered in Hong Kong) are in a CEPA association under the name “Stephenson Harwood - Wei Tu (China) Association”. CEPA (Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement) is a free trade agreement concluded between Mainland China and Hong Kong. Under CEPA, Hong Kong based law firms are permitted to operate in association with Mainland Chinese law firms to provide comprehensive legal services in Mainland China governed by Chinese and non-Chinese laws.

  • Maritime Labor Dispute (Foreign Crew)

    Represented 13 Filipino crew service contract disputes, which were selected by the Supreme People's Court of China as one of the "2021 Typical National Maritime Cases" and were included in the "Supreme People's Court Work Report".

  • Commodity Trading Dispute – International Arbitration

    Assisted partners in acting as China Law Expert to advise Singapore High Court proceedings, submitting Expert Report on PRC customs laws and regulations involved in an international sales of goods contract dispute of Australian coal.

  • Corporate and Commercial Dispute Resolution

    Represented a Hong Kong-listed company in resolving disputes arising from the transfer of the company's equity and substantial assets through a series of related-party transactions over its wholly-owned subsidiary in mainland China, which is illegally controlled by its legal representative.

  • BVI Company Equity Transfer Dispute

    Represented a BVI entity on multi-jurisdictional litigation and enforcement actions (courts in Guangzhou/Shanghai/Beihai) concerning several equity transfer contracts with a Shanghai company.

  • International Trade and L/C Dispute

    Represented a large Chinese state-owned enterprise in international trade disputes and L/C disputes arising from export controls and economic sanctions.

  • Charter Party Dispute – International Arbitration

    Represented a foreign logistics company and a domestic shipping enterprise in an ad hoc arbitration with the London Arbitrators Association (LMAA) in a Voyage Charter Party dispute.

  • Shipping Contract Dispute – Parallel Proceedings

    Represented a Hong Kong shipping company in disputes over a shipping contract with multiple parties. Participated in parallel proceedings involving domestic litigation and Hong Kong arbitration.

  • Contract Dispute – International Arbitration

    Represented a Hong Kong internet company that handles exclusive contract and tort disputes with several foreign hosts and initiated arbitration with the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).

  • Maritime Preservation

    Represented a Hong Kong shipping company in applying for maritime preservation, which was selected by the Guangzhou Maritime Court as one of the "Top 10 Typical Cases of 2021".
