Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its Corporate practice with the arrival of partner William Robert, who joins the firm in Paris.

William has more than 20 years of experience advising on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. With notable expertise in Private Equity, he advises executives, financial investors, and growth companies on their strategic operations, external growth and consolidation, notably in complex and cross-border contexts.

William has a multi-sector practice, with particular depth in Life Sciences and Healthcare, Technology, and Private Capital and Funds.

“At the heart of our firm’s ambitious growth strategy is a desire to bolster our presence in continental Europe,” said Nicolas Demigneux, Paris Office Managing Partner, Stephenson Harwood. “Adding a lawyer of William’s calibre and enviable reputation to our team gives us the perfect platform from which to further develop our client offering in the region, providing a springboard for further growth.”

“As we look to expand our international Corporate offering, we want to make sure to invest in the areas we know matter most to our clients,” said Tom Nicholls, Head of the Corporate practice at Stephenson Harwood. “William’s sector focus closely aligns with the core Areas of Focus for our firm, and his experience will be especially valuable here given the increasing market complexity and internationalisation. His ability to handle complex, cross-border M&A, private equity and joint ventures across multiple jurisdictions is as much a coup for our clients as for us.”

He joins the firm with Sabine Bensaid, Senior Associate.

Stephenson Harwood’s international Corporate practice acts for listed and private companies, international banks, private equity houses and management teams across a broad range of industries, including Technology, Life Sciences and Healthcare, Private Capital and Funds, Transportation and Trade, and Energy Transition and Infrastructure.
