Stephenson Harwood advises Avation on the financing of an Etihad-operated Airbus A320 acquisition

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised Singapore-based lessor Avation PLC on the financing of its acquisition of a 2013-built Airbus A320 on long-term lease to Etihad Airways on the secondary-market.

The acquisition was financed by Investec Bank plc, and involved an extension of the lease with Etihad Airways, the Abu Dhabi-based carrier, until October 2031. The acquisition expands Avation's fleet to 33 leased aircraft and enhances its customer base, now comprising 16 airlines across 14 countries.

Avation is an aircraft leasing company based in Singapore, specialising in leasing commercial passenger aircraft to airlines across the globe. Etihad Airways, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, is one of the leading airlines in the Middle East, known for its extensive network and premium services.

The team was led by Partner Saugata Mukherjee, together with Managing Associate Clement Leung, Associates Bong Yumi and Bryan Liang, and Paralegal Michelle Wong.
