Global Developments

As we head into the final quarter of 2026, several key trends are shaping the offshore sector. Non-payment of invoices remains a persistent challenge, particularly in oil and gas, with many contractors, vessel owners, and suppliers reporting delayed or disputed payments. We are also seeing a growing number of projects planning to operate further into the winter months, which is encouragingly prompting parties to revisit and amend their contracts to ensure that increasingly difficult working conditions are properly addressed from a risk perspective. Meanwhile, supply chain delays remain a global issue, continuing to impact project schedules and commercial relationships. Across the EU and Middle East, a high number of projects are notably behind schedule, but as one project manager recently remarked: “Once the schedule is updated, the project is no longer late.”

On Tuesday 20 October in Gdańsk, Stephenson Harwood and CSO Group are hosting a relaxed, small-group event to talk through the latest trends and challenges in the Polish offshore sector. Whether you are interested in vessel markets, cable and foundation installation, vessel management or contracting issues, this is a great chance to share experiences and ask questions in an informal setting.

We look forward to a casual evening of conversation, networking, and a few beers. If your colleagues or connections are attending the Offshore Wind Logistics & Supplies Conference, please feel free to pass on this invitation. Register your interest here.
