Lijuan Hou

Having been working at leading international law firms in China for nearly 20 years, Lijuan Hou focuses her practice on private investment funds, private equity, venture capital, China-related cross-border mergers and acquisitions and foreign direct investment. She regularly counsels international institutional investors on structuring and negotiating their investments into Asia-focused private investment funds, and their secondary and co-investment deals in Asia. She is also experienced in advising Asia-based private fund managers on setting up offshore private investment funds and their portfolio investments. She also frequently advises multinational companies and financial institutions on entering into the China market and structuring complex and innovative investments and acquisitions in China, and advises them on regulatory, compliance, foreign exchange, labor and employment issues. 

In the private investment fund area, Lijuan Hou has extensive experience in representing many major institutional investors in the market, and is quite familiar with the operations, investment strategies, policies, process and requirements of such investors. She is also experienced in representing Asia-based fund managers in formation of offshore private investment funds. Such experience and familiarity have allowed her to have a very good understanding of relevant issues involved in fund documents from different angles, which has brought added value to her clients.
